Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organisation with more than 1.35 million members in more than 45,000 clubs worldwide.
Lions are everywhere with active men and women in more than 206 countries and geographic areas.
Lions has a dynamic history and was founded in 1917 to volunteer for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry, fighting blindness and aiding seniors, the disabled, the disadvantaged and the young.
Lions support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring and with many projects, including the Peace Poster Contest and Youth Camps and Exchange.
Lions award grants and since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded more than £400 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world.
