Each year Alton Lions, together with Alton Runners, organise the Alton 10, a ten-mile road race in May and, at the start of the cross-country season in October the Downland Challenge 10k & 5k races.
In spite of fickle weather the third Lions-rehab Golf Day was a great success with eighty players braving the elements to raise money for Basingstoke and Alton Cardiac Rehab.
Heralded by Alton Town Crier Queen Victoria opened this year’s Alton Lion’s summer event in the Public Gardens, declaring that she ‘expected to be amused!’
