The Alton Downland Challenge is the last races of the Watercress Triple Challenge

Registration

Entries on the day for the 10k & 5k will be available subject to the races not reaching the limit. Registration for the Children’s 500m and 1K races will be on the morning of race only.

Please arrive in good time to collect your race number for the 10K and 5K races.

Registration will close at 10:15AM.

Event Name: Alton Downland Challenge

Event Distances: 10Km, 5Km

Course Profile: Both the 10K and 5K courses are classed as multi-terrain; a mixture of grass, roads and tracks.

Relay Entries: No

Water Stations: Every 5km for the 10K race only

Distance Markers: Every 1km

Prizes

Medal for all finishers.

10K Prizes
1st place trophies (Male and female)
1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies in the following age categories:
MSenior, M40, M50, M60, FSenior, F35, F45, F55 for the 10K event.
1st place M70 and W65 for the 10K event.
1st place Male and Female for the 5K event.

For the 5k, race special medals to the first 3 boys and first 3 girls in two age groups: 10-12 and 13-15 and a School team trophy for the first 5 boys and 3 girls.

Course Information

Both Downland courses are a mixed terrain of grass, roads and tracks. The start and finish will be in Anstey Park. The 5k Challenge starts 5 minutes after the main 10k event.

Please note, the course is being changed this year so there will be less roads. Please follow marshal’s directions. The course for the 500m & 1k races will be in Anstey Park.

Other Race Information

Race Numbers: Please wear your number pinned to the front of your vest.

Parking and Transport: Parking will be at Alton School, Anstey Lane, Alton GU34 2NG and is a two minute walk from race HQ.

Changing: There are limited changing facilities at Anstey Park. Come changed and ready to run if possible.

Toilets: There are both men’s and ladies toilets in Anstey Park. They will be clearly marked.

Dogs: No dogs are allowed on the course

I hereby declare that (1) I am an amateur according to the eligibility rule of UKA, (2) I am medically fit to run and I will do so at my own risk and agree not to hold the organisers responsible in any way for any injury or loss resulting from my participation in the event, prior to, during or after the event. (3) I understand the organisers reserve the right to alter the arrangements and conditions should circumstances require. The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs and prams.

In the unfortunate cancellation of the event through circumstance beyond the control of the race organisers. I understand, and accept, the rules and terms of the entry including that there will be no refund of race fees. By entering this event, the athlete indicates acceptance of UKA rules
