Alton Lions President, Atul Patel, hands over a cheque for £1,500 to Lisa Hillan, The Kings Arms Services Manager (Alton).
The funds have been used to purchase and install a new front door – providing the main entrance to The Kings Arms Youth Centre (KA), at The Tannery.
Now owned now by Alton Town Council, the former Bartlett and Butcher shop, opposite the Library at the bottom of Vicarage Hill, is being converted into a Youth Centre run by KA, a charity that works to support the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of young people.
The door surround is the work of former Alton Lion, stonemason, Roger Frampton.
Work is progressing at pace at The Tannery with painting and floor covering in full swing and KA continues to fund raise to support the refurbishment, as well as the work of its team in supporting young people remotely until such time as they can access the new centre.
