Lions-Rehab golf day goes from strength to strength

In spite of fickle weather the third Lions-rehab Golf Day was a great success with eighty players braving the elements to raise money for Basingstoke and Alton Cardiac Rehab.

The event resulted in over £1500 being raised for Cardiac Rehab towards their running expenses. On behalf of Alton Lions Brian Lazenby thanked the players for braving the elements and helping to make the day such a success. He also expressed thanks to the sponsors, Sheen Stickland LLP the donors of raffle prizes and Test Valley Golf Club for their support.

An auction of an antique golf club and a spa day was held run by auctioneer Len Mills of the Rehab Golf Society and the prizes were presented by Hugh Bethell of Cardiac Rehab.

The winning team was the foursome of Eric Phillips, Will Spooner, Kevin Baines and John Chapple, known collectively as The Wheatley Wallies. The individual male winner was Will Spooner and the individual lady winner was Jennifer Clelland.

On behalf of Cardiac Rehab Hugh Bethell thanked Alton Lions for their continued support.
