The 36th Alton 10 Mile Road Race was held on 12 May 2019 starting from Treloar’s College in Holybourne, through Holybourne village and along a circuit of undulating countryside and picturesque Hampshire village lanes and ending in Eggar’s School in Alton.
The race is organised by Alton Road Runners & Alton Lions Club (CIO), who also provide the Race Marshals, every year usually on the second Sunday in May. It is part of the Hampshire Road Race League. The minimum age for runners is 17 and it is run under UKA rules and is organised using chip timing. There is an entry fee payable in advance with a premium for on the day bookings. The course is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.
This year attracted over 480 runners from all over Hampshire, Wiltshire and Surrey. This year’s winner was Stuart Holloway from Salisbury and the first woman was Becky Lord from Stubbington.
