Triple Joy for Bushy Leaze

For many years now ALTON LIONS CLUB (CIO) has organised a raffle for Giant Easter Eggs together with local pubs and other outlets with profits being donated to Bushy Leaze. This year, because of COVID restrictions it had to be conducted differently and recently Alton Lions paid a visit to Bushy Leaze Children and Families Centre recently to hand over the results to Bushy Leaze.

FIRST – A Giant Easter egg to be shared by the children and

SECOND – A Cheque for £720 to be used to improve facilities.

The money was raised via a virtual raffle which, this year, took the place of the usual Eggstravaganza. The raffle was drawn during a special Facebook version of the Alton Lions/Wey Valley Radio (WVR) lockdown Community Quiz.

All of the winners donated their prize money for Bushy Leaze and one donated their Giant Egg prize.

Thanks, have been expressed to all who took part in the raffle and to WVR broadcaster, Dean Phillips, and quiz writer, Lion Bill Tigg, for running and presenting the online event.

Following the visit, it has since been agreed by the Alton Lions Club to:

THIRD – Donate an additional £356 to Bushy Leaze for astro-turf to be fitted  into the children’s play area.
