Lions make a difference

Formed in 1972, The Alton Lions Club is a respected local volunteer organisation active in fundraising, community services and enjoying the fellowship that goes with being a Lion. We are the largest service charity in the town and play a central part in the town’s activities.

The club hosts a number of events in the town including the annual Classic Car  Show which is the town’s largest public event. In addition we put on a monthly Craft Market and family events such as Party In the Park held in the Public Gardens.

We have several social events throughout the year so the club is also a great place to meet new people and to make new friends.

The Alton Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, an international organisation that was founded in 1917 to volunteer to help solve the challenges facing local communities and has become the largest non governmental organisation (NGO) in the world.

When you join Alton Lions you join a local group of service-minded men and women who regularly volunteer to support our community. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International – a respected international organisation recognised by the United Nations – a leader in your local community, and a friend to people in need.

Our oversight team is responsible for good governance.

We support and team up with like-minded partners.

We are part of an international organisation.

We have served our local community and beyond for many years.
