A Night of Laughter, Thanks, and Friendly Competition: Alton’s New Skittle Alley Officially Open
On Friday 18th October, the Alton Community Centre was filled with cheers, camaraderie, and the satisfying clatter of skittles as Alton Lions members and volunteers gathered for a special evening of fun and appreciation. The occasion marked the official inauguration of the Centre’s brand-new skittle alley; a generous gift from Lion Bretta Rains on behalf of the Alton Lions Club.
The event brought together volunteers, friends, and supporters for a lively skittles evening that celebrated not only the new facility but also the incredible people who make so many of Alton’s community events possible. As Club President Paul Taroni put it, “We simply couldn’t do what we do without the dedication and heart of our volunteers. This evening was our way of saying thank you.”
The friendly competition saw plenty of laughter and light-hearted rivalry, culminating in two well-deserved victories: Colin March took home the prize for Overall Winner, while Dina Pote triumphed in the knockout round.
The new skittle alley is now available for community use and private bookings. Whether you're planning a family gathering, a team-building event, or just a fun night out with friends, the alley offers a fantastic way to bring people together. The skittle alley and room hire can be booked by contacting Alton Community Centre
A heartfelt thank you once again to Lion Bretta Raines for this wonderful donation, and to all the volunteers who continue to make Alton such a vibrant and welcoming place.
